As they approached their next target, the knight was feeling very confident about her theory. She sauntered up the steps like any other knight would and pushed through the swinging door of the courier's office.

"How may I help you?" the man behind the counter asked.

"I... well, I need you to deliver something for me," she said, speaking quietly, as if embarrassed. "Or, at least, I'm hoping you won't have to. You see... I need a letter to be taken to my family if I do not return from my next trip, for I am fearful of the outcome."

It was a dark, dark night. The wind howled like an angry wolf at a full moon. It whipped through the trees swiftly and violently, and pushed its assault upon the mountain. But for all that the wind tried, the mountain and its tower stood strong. The tower was a tremendous thing-- tall, ominous, and built of thick stone, crowned with crenelations and a single lonely window overlooking the sharp-needled pineforest that protected it. It gave the appearance of impenetrability.

However menacing it may have been, there were always those willing to risk life

HINABN - Better off undeadWhen you're undead, you have to keep in mind that there are certain things you cannot do. It's not your health at stake, your life, your well-being, as it was not those things when you were alive. When did the world care whether you were well? No, there are things you cannot do because of how it will be perceived.

It is inadvisable for an undead man to wield a weapon. Like those humans of unsound mind, the world does not trust your ability not to cause chaos. Should you need to protect yourself or someone else, you will have to rely on brute force or clever schemes to defeat your adversary. To use a weapon would not only be considered danger

HINABN - With what we areOh, this discovery was the most beautiful betrayal she'd yet known, the discovery that she could love again. Running through the night, hand-in-hand with a fledgeling vampire, as if fleeing from morning itself, she should have been frightened to death of the probable apocalypse that chased their ragtag team, should have been racing through her mind for a frantic solution, or cursing her fates and the freakish blood of her family, but all she could think was how well his hand fit in hers. Like a puzzle-piece snapped together, long after she'd thought she'd lost her only precious jigsaw match.

Oh I agree! Although Phillis is my favourite character for sheer awesome psychonautyness, Longus is damn near close. Don is relate-able (on a personal level) too except when he's being campy. xD I am such a tomboy, bordering on bum.
